1. Who we are and your agreement
Slipborne is operated by Clarity Bytes, LLC, the company behind Clarity Games ("we", "us" and "our"). These Terms of Service are an agreement between you and Clarity Bytes, LLC. By creating a Slipborne account, downloading the game or using our online services, you agree to these terms and our community rules. If you do not agree, do not create an account or use the game or services.
Our privacy notice explains how we handle personal information. Nothing in these terms takes away consumer, privacy or other rights that applicable law does not allow you to waive.
2. Who can use Slipborne
You must be at least 13 and meet any higher minimum age required for online services where you live or by a service you use to sign in. If you are below the age of legal majority where you live, your parent or legal guardian must review and agree to these terms with you. Do not use another person's identity to get around these requirements.
3. Alpha builds and availability
Slipborne is in early alpha. Builds may contain bugs, crash, lose progress or stop working. Features, saved-game compatibility, servers, statistics and leaderboards may change or be reset. An alpha download does not promise a release date, future features or permanent access to online services.
We may update, maintain or discontinue alpha services. Keep backups of saves that matter to you and download updates only from our website, our published release links or an authorized storefront. You may share our official download links with other testers.
4. Your account and linked services
Steam or Discord can verify your identity for a Slipborne account. We receive the basic profile information described in the privacy notice; we do not receive your Steam or Discord password. Those providers, Epic Online Services and any storefront you use have their own terms and privacy policies.
- Keep your linked accounts and sign-in sessions secure. Only approve a game sign-in code for a device you recognize.
- Do not sell, transfer or impersonate another person's account, or use it to evade a suspension.
- Keep your handle, display name, avatar and server names within the community rules. We may remove or change a name that breaks them.
- You can manage linked logins, profile visibility and signed-in devices from your account page.
5. Permission to play and use our content
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive and non-transferable license to install and play the builds we make available to you, subject to these terms and any applicable storefront license. Slipborne's software, artwork, audio, branding and other content belong to us or our licensors. You may not resell the game, redistribute its builds or assets without permission, or remove ownership notices. Reverse engineering and other uses remain permitted where applicable law gives you that right.
You may share screenshots, gameplay videos and livestreams, including monetized videos and streams, provided you follow these terms, respect other people's rights and do not imply that we endorse your content. Separate permissions or licenses supplied with third-party content continue to apply.
6. Fair play and community conduct
Follow the community rules on the website, listed servers and our community spaces. Do not harass or threaten people, share their private information, impersonate staff, scam players or post content you do not have the right to share. Do not cheat, manipulate official results, attack services or interfere with other players' games or our security systems.
Community hosts may add their own rules, but cannot remove our rules. You can report a player or contact the team through our Discord community.
7. Player content, community servers and mods
You keep ownership of content you create and submit, such as profile text, crew names and feedback. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to store, display, transmit and moderate that content as needed to operate Slipborne. This permission does not transfer ownership of your content. You must have the rights needed to share it. We may remove content that breaks these terms or applicable law.
Player-hosted servers and third-party mods are controlled by their operators or creators. We do not endorse or guarantee them. Use supported mod features and any mod policy we publish; do not disguise a modified game as an official build or bypass compatibility checks. Arbitrary executable mods are not supported.
8. Privacy, security, crash reports and feedback
The privacy notice describes account information, online-play records, hashed network and device identifiers used for moderation, retention and your choices. Public profile settings affect what other players can see. Crash reports are sent only when you choose to send one. Feedback and suggestions may be used to improve Slipborne without an obligation to pay for them.
9. Moderation, suspension and ending your use
We may warn, restrict, suspend or end access when someone breaks these terms, to address a security issue or to protect players and the service. Suspensions may cover related accounts, devices and networks as described in the community rules and privacy notice. Do not create or use another account to evade them. You can ask a moderator on our Discord to review a suspension.
You can stop using Slipborne at any time and request account deletion through your account page. Self-service deletion is restricted during an active suspension; you can still contact the team about your data and exercise any rights provided by applicable privacy law. Ending access does not remove rights or obligations that, by their nature, continue after use ends.
10. Purchases and storefronts
If you obtain Slipborne through a storefront, its disclosed payment, refund and license terms also apply. We do not charge you merely for receiving a community alpha download link or creating an account. These terms do not waive any refund, cancellation or other consumer rights you have under applicable law.
11. Warranties and responsibility
To the extent permitted by applicable law, alpha builds and online services are provided "as is" and "as available", without a promise of uninterrupted operation, error-free play or preserved progress. To that same extent, we disclaim implied warranties and liability for indirect or consequential losses caused by use of the alpha or interruptions to the service.
These limits do not exclude liability for fraud, deliberate misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other responsibility that applicable law does not allow us to exclude. Mandatory consumer guarantees and your legally protected remedies continue to apply.
12. Changes and applicable rights
We may update these terms as Slipborne develops. The current version and its effective date will be published here. We will give reasonable notice of material changes through the website or game, and request renewed agreement where required by law. Changes apply going forward, subject to applicable law. If you do not accept a change, you can stop using the affected services.
These terms do not require arbitration, choose an exclusive court or take away mandatory protections provided by the laws that apply where you live. If part of these terms cannot be enforced, the remaining parts continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
13. Contact
For questions about these terms, your account, a suspension or your data, contact a Slipborne moderator or the Clarity Games team through our Discord community. The service operator and contracting company is Clarity Bytes, LLC.
